​Megan loves doing author visits!

As a former elementary teacher, Megan has experience speaking with elementary students in fun and engaging ways. Here's an overview of her most popular presentations; each one is 25 minutes, with a 10 minute Q&A at the end:

  • The Author Journey— this slideshow presentation shows the many obstacles and failures in the path toward publication + how do story ideas become a published, book-shaped thing? Ideal for large or small groups, grades K-8.
  • Creating a Story—this slideshow presentation looks at the 4 ingredients pieces of story (genre, setting, character, and plot). As a group, we will create our own "Story Mad Lib"! Ideal for large or small groups, grades K-8.
  • Writer's Workshop--we will take an in-depth look at How to Write a Story, including Megan's tips and secrets for creating lovable characters. Workshops are collaborative, with writing exercises and extended Q&A time. Ideal for small groups, grades 4-8.

She hopes to inspire students to find their own creativity, and above all else, that each child would know that their story matters.
